March 5 Equity Institute Join a diverse group of community leaders from across the country for an exciting afternoon of peer exchange and skills building. The Equity Institute offers several free interactive training sessions to participants interested in exploring concepts, ideas, and strategies related to advancing regional equity.Space in these sessions is limited to 30 registrants. (Download descriptions) Site Visits In partnership with local nonprofit organizations and the city of New Orleans, visit local sites throughout the area made available before the summit officially begins. Explore the post-Katrina rebuilding process and witness the complexities and beauty of New Orleans culture. (Download descriptions)
March 5-7 Authors' Showcase Summit participants will have the opportunity to meet authors, through the author showcase, who have published books focusing on economic and social justice issues. (Download descriptions) Multimedia Room The screening room will feature clips from a number of documentary films; and explore ways that technology helps facilitate advocacy through viral online videos, flash animation, and content from advocacy websites.
